"D-Day"

We have spent 36 weeks counting down to today. Both Vic and I are MORE than ready to welcome little Miss Lori! And yet, our patience is still being tested. In Dr. Huskey's words,(with little grin on her face) "wow, so you haven't been this pregnant before?" Um, nope! I mean, Vayda didn't come that early, it was just ten days, but right now that feels like an eternity!

I'm doing my best to stay positive, patient and thankful that we even made it to this point. I have had a great pregnancy so far and the baby and I are both healthy. I shouldn't ask for more than that. It may be a few more days, a week or two, or who knows...maybe tonight. I guess it's all in the excitement. I need to remember we are not in control and this is just a test of patience. I need to let my body do it's thing. At the same time I am trying to enjoy this calm before the storm (as much as my mind will let me), because who are we kidding, when everything does begin to move, it will move FAST, then there is no slowing down or turning back! Baby Lori will let her place be known in our little (but growing, :P) Arreguin clan.

So until that breaking moment (I'm crossing my fingers the water breaks again before the contractions begin haha), I am going to do my best to enjoy the not so quiet, it's still just us and our Vay, moments :). Thank goodness my mom is still here too! She is doing a great job of keeping me and my mind occupied. Thank you mom, it really does mean a lot!

We still have a few little nesting projects I would like to get done around the house, so today is the day for that. Oh, and another Dr. appt this afternoon. Update to come.

Acid Indegestion...I loath you!

I have now gone through 3 containers of Tums (actually Target’s brand Up&Up, they seem to taste less chalky). Each were a 72-pk which is a total of 216 chewable tablets. I’ve been pregnant for 214 days. The number is about right. Mind you I’ve had days where I take them up to 3 times a day. Before questioning if it’s safe…it is. The Dr said as long as I don’t exceed 8 a day (think that’s what the magic number was) then we are ok. Added bonus, there is a TON of calcium in them so baby Lori and I have to have thee strongest bones by now! Oh the joys of pregnancy =]. It could always be worse.

Update from the last post:

Dr. Huskey said exactly what I thought she would say. The pain in my hips are normal and there is really nothing I can do about it. She suggested wearing a belly band to sort of lift the baby a little off my hips. So I have it on and I have to say I have noticed a little difference (this could be a cause for all the indigestion today though lol). Apparently it’s more common in your second+ pregnancy. But other than that she said everything else looks great! Glucose test came back 90, anything below 140 is good and my blood test did not have any signs of Anemia. Now we are going to the Dr for checkups every two weeks, YAY!

30 weeks!

I hit 30 weeks today! For the most part it's been smooth sailing. I do have to say though, my bones are beginning to hurt a lot sooner than they did with Vayda and my left leg feels like it's going to give out at times =\. This Wednesday is my next doctor appointment so hopefully it's just a healthy sign that she is moving into position. I will keep you updated.

Other than that, I still don't mind being pregnant...it's actually fun! :) Just don't take that the wrong way...we are not planning on another one for a while (despite whatever Vic has told some of you haha). This momma needs to recuperate!

On another note, we hit our first hive outbreak with Vayda :(. The hives were everywhere! We analyzed everything she could have eaten out of the ordinary or rubbed against but we still have no idea what it could be from. Especially if it was something she rubbed against, an outbreak from that can show 24-48 hours after the interaction! I didn't know that until now.

Despite her looking adorably sad in this picture, she was actually a good 'lil trooper! We followed the doctors orders and gave her Aveeno baths and Benedryl. She itched a few times but never complained. I am so thankful that it wasn't any worse...but talk about a scare! Now we know all the signs for the next time/next kid ;).

Ready...Set...Go...?!

Yup, that's right! We are on our way to making our little family, a little bigger. We are 12 wks along...and SOOO excited!

When I took the at home test, Vic and I both thought that I was a lot further along then I actually was. We went to the Dr and she set-up a ultrasound appointment to see exactly how far along I am. When the ultrasound tech said I was only 7 wks I thought I was going to cry...only because my morning sickness was just beginning. And that just meant I had plenty more on it's way.

So far the pregnancy has been healthy...super healthy if you include morning sickness. They say every pregnancy is different, and boy are 'they' right!

With Vay I didn't experience any morning sickness. With this little one I think I got it all. It wasn't as bad as some stories I've heard but it wasn't a breeze either. I think it was about a month that I went through my share of ginger ale, ginger candy (thanks a TON Jen!), morning wellness tea, preggie pops (eww), toast, and sea bands. I think I tried it all. Luckily, I think (hope and pray) the worst is over. Food still does not taste the same or sound good right away but at least it's going in and staying in =P.

My last Dr. appointment (at 10 weeks) I got to hear the little, but oh so strong heartbeat. I don't think it matters if it's your first or fifth, it's still such an amazing thing to hear!

Does Vayda know? Yes! She will go back and forth whether she is having a baby brother or baby sister...and whenever she sees my belly she asks to kiss the baby :). I know there will be some jealousy, but we will do as much as we can to prep her...and us haha.

And so the adventure is just getting grander and more exciting...more to come!
