Friday's Letters

preschool 2012; age 4
Ready for her first picture day!

Vayda, I loved dropping your off at school yesterday and I hate that I can't do it everyday! Watching you interact with your friends was so fun. And hearing you announce to your friends that I'm your mama made me feel proud :). Well that's until you got up in their face and repeated it haha. love you baby!

Lori, Your obsession with shoes is growing like mad! I realize you LOVE shoes and you are worried when people are barefoot but this shoe craze is kind of crazy. But because I love you so, I will wear my one old flip flop you found, who knows where, all morning while I get ready for work and I will help you slide into my heels. But please stop fighting me when I go to take Vayda's old shoes off your feet (which are too big for you still) to put some on that fit you. love you darling!

Hubbs, Thank you for the fancy honey last night! I seriously thought about eating that whole honey comb. This cold sucks, but thanks for taking care of your 'ol lady ;). love you muchoooo!

New blog friends, Welcome to IELM and thanks for following!!! I love new faces and I can't wait to explore your blogs as well!
so fresh and so clean clean
New haircut, (yes, you get a letter too) I think I love you! I needed a cut SO bad. With that 3 almost 4 inches gone my head feels much lighter. I think we are going to work.

Don't forget to enter the Starbucks card giveaway!! Only 1 day left!

Have a great weekend everyone!!

This week went by SO fast and I love it!

Dear Oma - HAPPY 93RD BIRTHDAY!! You are thee strongest women I know. Thank you for being so amazing I love you to the fullest and wish I could be with you today to celebrate. I hope the pinata came through for your bday! I've never met anyone more into sports than you so I hope you swing that bat hard!
Lori is the 2nd to youngest great grand baby (till June, there will be another great grand babe & a great great grand babe) with her Great [amazing] Oma. <3

Dear Mae - Congratulations!!! Your family has been in my thoughts and prayers and I am SO excited for you to be a family of three and that you had a great trip and time with Abi! Seriously have not stopped thinking about you all. The hubby gets to hear the updates too :).

Dear Friends - Go check out Mae's blog. She is amazing, her heart is pure gold and go support her and her husband on their new journey as a family of three! (And thank you ever so much for being awesome blog followers of mine!)

Dear Hubbs - thank you for your support on my new fitness kick. I would totally slack if you didn't send me encouraging texts (i.e. "this is your 11am reminder, don't eat carbs! :*") I love you!

Dear Vayda & Lori - I love that you two love each other so much, but it's already getting too physical lol. Hugging turns into wrestling...and you're only 31/2 and 1! Brings me back to when my mom would say "You're laughing now but stop before you're both in tears". Yep, just quoted you're Oma! haha. Love you both as high as the sky and as deep as the sea!

Dear self - You kick @$$ in the gym this week! Stick to it..we're (is that right? "we're" to myself? hhahaa) feeling great!

Friday's Letters, 6/1/12

First, Happy June! Holy wow did that creep up fast or what?!

Dear Hubbs, thank you for late night talks and being who you are. I love you so much and appreciate the fact that we can talk. Truly, it's a big deal. thank you for that.

Dear Vayda, It's your first recital tomorrow! WOOHOOO! I can't wait! I'm curious to see if you will clam up or if you will take the stage and own it...like you do at home lol. Either way we love you so much and are so excited to see you perform. p.s. we def need to practice some more tonight lol. Boogie Woogie Piggie here we come!

if the recital doesn't go well we can go back to painting ;)

Dear Lori, You are such a dare devil and it's freaking me out. It's not funny to stand on the rocking chair and move like you're surfing. Ok, it's cute. But please take it down a notch. At least till you have real balance hahha. love you!

And lastly
Dear blogger friends and family, This morning I stumbled on a new organization. It's called Speak Now! They are a brand new organization with intentions or giving young women the resources to "have faith in themselves, their beliefs, values, and aspirations."

A little from the organization:

"Each detail is crafted with  young women in mind.
We at Speak Now have this dream-
to inspire, empower, create, educate, and love young women internationally.

We want to see young women have faith in themselves, their beliefs, values, and aspirations.

Each "like" our organization receives on facebook funds a dime to the storefront teen shelter in San Diego, California."

Lucky is ONE today!

I can't believe how fast a year can fly by. I year ago today I had the craziest labor ever and I thank God everyday for our little gem, Lori Darling. She truly is a darling. She's sweet, gentle, calm, kind and as tender as can be.

Last night I stayed up late baking for the party, gave my sweet girl her birthday kiss at midnight (one of many now haha) and went to sleep. This morning Vayda and I sang happy birthday a few times (ok a lot of times), we enjoyed birthday pancakes then continued our regular routine rushing to get out of the door to Nana's then to work. On my way to work I thought back on her birth and how thankful I am that she was ok through it all. How beautiful it was to hold her for the first time, even if it was on cold cement and on top of my clothes. How awesome this first year has been with her. Getting to know her personality and watching her learn to do so many things. I may or may not have shed a few tears.

I'm so thankful for our family. Vayda has been an amazing big sister to little Lucky. And Lucky has done her job as a little sister so far, following Vay everywhere, pulling her hair, scratching at times (=\)and giving lots of besos.

Dear Hubbs,
Thank you for giving me these two awesome kiddos! Thanks for being so amazingly calm for me when you just about delivered Lori. You're an amazing papa and like I said in my text to you this morning, I wouldn't have it any other way. I love you!

Dear Lori,
HAPPY BRITHDAY!! We love you soooo much baby girl! Your smile is contagious and your eyes radiate love. Thank you for being such an amazing little. You're an awesome one year old!! besos!

Dear Vayda,
You're such an awesome big sister! I'm not going to lie, we were worried a little at first. Sometimes you're a little rough lol and you were so used to being an only child. But you sure showed us! You are so sweet and gentle with Lori. I love watching you with her. I love you!

Dear Firemen (E51/A),
Thank you for making it just at the right second to deliver our precious babe! The moment I heard your sirens I knew it would be ok. You all were so awesome and are all forever in our hearts. Also, thank you for  taking pictures on your phone when all was said and done. I appreciate you not thinking I was crazy (or at least not showing it haha). Those pictures are priceless. Thank you again!

Friday's Letters

Can I just say this week flew by like superman on a mission?! haha no but seriously, did it fly by for anyone else? No complaints here, just loving it.

Dear Hubbs - Thank you for helping me cut the invites last night! It's so hott when you use a paper cuter lmao. and p.s Ryan Gosling said it's ok to hit snooze!

Dear Vayda - You make me laugh everyday, I love it! I don't know where you pick up all of these grown-up phrases and words but it's hilarious (until you sound too much like a teenager, then we need to talk). Nonsense? Seriously, your'e 3! haha love ya crazy butt!

Dear Lori - I'm so glad I took that video of you toddling the other day because I swear overnight you became a semi-pro walker! I was so close to shedding a tear when you walked perfectly towards me in your big girl looking outfit and your new kicks (pics coming soon of the kicks, they are to die for!). Love ya baby girl!

Dear new blog friends - I'm so happy to have you here and I hope you enjoy my little piece of the blog world. Thank you for joining us on our journey of crazy adventures!

Dear new and old blog friends - I'm slacking in the "about me" section of my blog. I seriously do not like writing about me's. Any tips on where to start? Do I write my whole life story? What would you want to hear? How did you write yours? Thanks for the input!

It's Friday!

This week hasn't been that bad at all, yet I'm thrilled that my workday is almost over and I'm on my way to a lovely weekend. This weekend we get to see my lovely cousin get married and the hubbs and I get to enjoy a little getaway. I'm a little disappointed that the family from out of town won't get to see the girls, but my Oma (grandma) even agreed that it's good he and I get a night away. So with her blessing *wink* we will def enjoy some R&R.

Dear hubbs, I love that you don't even make a peep about me having my crafts and party supplies all over our kitchen table. Lori's party is a little less than a month away so we will have that space back in no time ;). Somehow I think you're not saying a word because you know that once we have a house the garage will have car parts all over the place and I'll have to keep my peeps to myself then. hah. Even trade....hmm maybe I can have a craft room in our future home? Just a thought.

Dear Vayda Marie, You are always gonna be our Super Vayda. I will be so sad when you won't want to be super Vayda anymore. So until that day, your papa and I are cherishing these moments. Oh and please start smiling when I take pictures. You're making it look like you're miserable lol!

Dear Lori Darling, You're sooo close to walking all on your own! Last night you took 5/6 steps and did great. Keep it up little one, we are all cheering you on. Literally, Vayda loves cheering for you :).

Dear Patches, You've been gone for a month now and I still find myself thinking about you always. You were thee best dog and best friend hands down. From the day dad and I rescued you from the shelter to the day you passed you brought happiness to so many lives. I remember constantly chasing you down the street in my socks when you snuck out of the front door. You tried (and succeeded a few times) jumping over the back fence. I never saw a dog with that much life and energy. As you grew older and in pain your spirit was still always so high. You lived much much longer than anyone thought you could or would. You were a fighter, a true Delgado ;]. I've been carrying guilt because I wasn't with you as much as I wish I could have been for the past few yrs. I'm sorry for that. Everyone sure does miss you, but I'm sure you're having the time of your life running with out pain and peeing on everything in sight lol. I love you and always will.

Friday's Letters

Dear Vayda & Lori, among many important lessons I want to be sure to teach you, here are some other great lessons. This post has been floating around all day today and I love every word, please don't ignore these wise thoughts and lessons. I love you two!
The following is from Kate Elizabeth Conner

"You are beautiful.  You are valuable.  You are enough."

Ten Things I Want To Tell Teenage Girls

2. Don’t go to the tanning bed.  You’ll thank me when you go to your high school reunion and you look like you’ve been airbrushed and then photoshopped compared to the tanning bed train wrecks formerly known as classmates – well, at least next to the ones that haven’t died from skin cancer.
3.  When you talk about your friends “anonymously” on Facebook, we  know exactly who you’re talking about.  People are smarter than you think they are.  Stop posting passive-aggressive statuses about the myriad of ways your friends disappoint you.
4. Newsflash: the number of times you say “I hate drama” is a pretty good indicator of how much you love drama.  Non-dramatic people don’t feel the need to discuss all the drama they didn’t start and aren’t involved in.
5.  “Follow your heart” is probably the worst advice ever.
6. Never let a man make you feel weak or inferior because you are an emotional being.  Emotion is good; it is nothing to be ashamed of.  Emotion makes us better – so long as it remains in it’s proper place: subject to truth and reason.
7.  Smoking is not cool.
8.  Stop saying things like, “I don’t care what anyone thinks about me.”  First of all, that’s not true.  And second of all, if it is true, you need a perspective shift.  Your reputation matters – greatly.  You should care what people think of you.
9. Don’t play coy or stupid or helpless to get attention.  Don’t pretend something is too heavy so that a boy will carry it for you.  Don’t play dumb to stroke someone’s ego.  Don’t bat your eyelashes in exchange for attention and expect to be taken seriously, ever.  You can’t have it both ways.  Either you show the world that you have a brain and passions and skills, or you don’t.  There are no damsels in distress managing corporations, running countries, or managing households.  The minute you start batting eyelashes, eyelashes is all you’ve got.
10.  You are beautiful.  You are enough.  The world we live in is twisted and broken and for your entire life you will be subjected to all kinds of lies that tell you that you are not enough.  You are not thin enough.  You are not tan enough.  You are not smooth, soft, shiny, firm, tight, fit, silky, blonde, hairless enough.  Your teeth are not white enough.  Your legs are not long enough.  Your clothes are not stylish enough.  You are not educated enough.  You don’t have enough experience.  You are not creative enough.
There is a beauty industry, a fashion industry, a television industry, (and most unfortunately) a pornography industry: and all of these have unique ways of communicating to bright young women: you are not beautiful, sexy, smart or valuable enough.
You must have the clarity and common sense to know that none of that is true. None of it.
You were created for a purpose, exactly so.  You have innate value.  You are loved more than you could ever comprehend; it is mind-boggling how much you are adored.  There has never been, and there will never be another you.  Therefore, you have unique thoughts to offer the world.  They are only yours, and we all lose out if you are too fearful to share them.
You are beautiful.  You are valuable.  You are enough.
Dear Hubbs, Please excuse this "funk" I'm in. I really don't know why I'm in it. Hopefully it's over with soon lol. And no. It's not that time of the month, nor am I pregnant. lol. I love you!!!!!! Dear Self, SNAP OUT OF THIS FUNK!

Dear Rita, It's killing me that I can't be with you right now. When you told me last night that you thought it was labor time my heart dropped, only because I wish so bad to be near you. It's getting harder and harder to live as far as we do from each other. I love you and wish I could squeeze you. Rub your belly for me and kiss Lucia on the head. We can't wait to hear Elena's first cries, see her little fingers, toes and those sweet eyes. - Love your baby sister

Happy weekend everyone!!

Friday's Letters 4/6/12

Yesterday is over. Thank goodness.

Yesterday was Vic's procedure. It ended up only taking about 5 mins. Put him to sleep, shocked his heart (externally after all) and he woke up about 1 min later, if that. The Dr said he did very well and they were happy they only needed to shock his heart once. Vic said he was able to feel the difference in his heart beat right away. I on the other hand have never felt my heart beat so hard. My heart beat was in my throat, I think it was until we got home.

So no we are on the road to recovery. Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers. This isn't over yet, but I have a good feeling about the future. Especially since we caught this early on and we can move up from here.

Dear Vic, Thank you for being patient with my million questions all day errday making sure you're ok lol. You're a trooper and just like the nurse said, it's going to take work and positive thinking to keep you from going back. I love you more than you know. that is all. Dear Vayda, As much as I was telling you what Easter is all about I'm pretty sure all you care about is the bunny that brings all the goods lol. That's ok though, this is so much fun enjoying with you. Every moment. Dear Lucky, I've never seen a baby lounge as much as you do. It makes me crack up every time I turn around to see you plop down and lounge wherever you land. You're so stinking smart haha. Dear family & friends, thank you for your continuous thoughts, texts and calls letting us know that you're praying and thinking about us. None of that goes unnoticed. We are loved, thank you.

Happy Easter Everyone!!

Friday's Letters: 3.23.12

Dear Husband,
I know in my heart of hearts everything will be ok. We are going to get through this and be able to look back and  say, "pssh. Oh that 'ol thing?!".
Until then, I decided I'm going to be a ultra-protective, take over and manage everything,
soup nazi kind of wife lol (I'm trying to stay tough, thank you for being so tough).
-I love you more than you know.
Dear VaydaCakes,
When you said "My bones will bounce if I swallow my gum" I could not stop laughing. It still makes me smile when I think about it. I love you goober butt.
Dear Lucky,
It's been sooo much fun watching you be a little daredevil this week! All of your standing up without holding on and clapping at the same time is so much fun to watch. No rush on walking though, ok? I love you Darling.
Dear new job,
I am kind of loving you so far. Let's keep it like that, ;).
Dear BloggiBuddies,
Anyone experience arrhythmia and or know someone that has and has had to have their heart shocked back into a normal rhythm? Doing research on electrophysiology and any insight, feedback, similar experiences would be helpful to hear.

Thanks & TGIF!
