Our weekend in pics & MARGEE SLIM!

Turkey Day Outfits!

I hope everyone had the best long Thanksgiving weekend ever! I definitely enjoyed the break, it was MUCH needed. One thing I will say though, the people who came up with Cyber Monday knew EXACTLY what they were doing. Having a desk job on cyber Monday is not ok. Just saying. Anyone want to boast about your best cyber deals so far? Please share, I love hearing about great finds! :)

****Exciting Announcement****
My sister, Rita, finally opened an Etsy Shop! I say finally because everything she makes is amazing and I’m not just saying that because we’re related, she is stuffed with talent! So go now, check out her shop it’s called Margee Slim. It’s the first of many different products she will be providing…right Ritz? And if you’re a coffee lover like we are or you know one, you will LOVE these French press covers. They add so much character to your kitchen while keeping that coffee goodness warm (Rita, I kind of want them all). While you’re at it, check out her blog too! There you will see a glimpse of all of the amazing things she can do not to mention my pretty adorable nieces that model her work. So go now!

blog face-lift & 1st giveaway...ever!

Monday Monday Monday

Well there are going to be some exciting changes around here! Nope, no house yet. But the bloggie-blog is getting a much needed face-lift! Back in September I purchased a fun new banner and button design from the talented Jess Craig over at irocksowhat. Definitely go check out her work, she does some fun stuff! Then I was strolling through livinginyellow (daily read for sure) and Erin was having a fun giveaway by Melissa Rose Designs. Not thinking I would win (but crossing my fingers) I WON! WHAT?! I love giveaways and to win one is that much sweeter lol. I was then in a dilemma...I just bought a banner what to do?! I saw the premade blog I won was valid till April so I was going to wait a while till I used it, but seriously who would wait? I was stoked! I asked Melissa if we could combine the two and being as amazeballs as she is, she said yes! :D

So soon enough (hopefully today) you will all get to see my new blog design! So excited to shareJ. Thank you SO much Jess for the awesome mug design and Melissa for the amazing and much needed layout!!!

And because I'm super excited to share my giveaway win with all of you, I’m going to have my first ever giveaway here. Pay it forward, right?! It’s not huge, but if you’re a coffee junkie like I am, you'll appreciate this one…

Longest car ride...ever. (road trip recap)

A 7 hour car ride turned into a 10/11 hour car ride...both ways.
On the ride we took about 30-45min breaks every 2 hours.
Each break everyone had to get out of the car. There was no such thing as a quick stop. Once we stopped it would be a trickle effect and they would wake up when we stopped moving (thank God we never hit traffic!).
We had potty breaks, nursing breaks, snack breaks, which then turned into coffee breaks and "here, go run around and get energy out" breaks.

rest stop!

All in all, it wasn't that bad.
We had the occasional crying and fighting but I think it definitely could have been worse.

Lucia getting down on some milkshake deliciousness =]

That trip actually gave me time to get to know my nieces some more and have fun with them. With my sister living in Maryland, we miss out on a lot so I thoroughly enjoyed my time with those two littles.

Being in Arizona was great. Super humid and hot but when you're with great company it's hard to even care about the weather!

We spent time sipping coffee, watching all of the second cousins run around and get to know each other, sipped more coffee, spent time catching up with my cousins, aunts and uncles, sipped more coffee, swam a little, did a coffee run with my Uncle Henry, sat with my Oma as she played the piano and sipped some more coffee.

What can I say, our family runs on coffee. It is what it is :).
that is not including the soon arrival of another great grand baby and her 1st great great grand baby :)

My Oma looked frail and in pain. She's having a hard time with her broken rib(s) and having to stay put. If she had her way she would have been in the kitchen the whole time making us bean burritos on homemade tortillas in between meals and making sure everyone's mug was full with fresh coffee. So to tell her that she needs to stay put and use a walker if she gets up is no bueno. She's still quick for being 93! And man, the older she gets the dirtier her jokes lol.
I love her so much!
My Auntie May is actually finishing a book about her so soon enough the whole world will be able to see just how amazing this woman is!

To get an idea how we all fit, here is a quick video on our way back home...This was one of few quiet moments:

Let's Chat Over Coffee

"Can I have coffee with milk and sugar now?"

Happy Monday! Have I mentioned that I love having coffee on the weekend with my Vayda? Well I do! I love that she loves it too. It's the beginning of our bonding over coffee. Just like I did with my mom, she did with my Oma and so on and so on. Later it will be with the little one in the back too :). I treasure these moments.

Btw, we can't sit Lori on the couch like that anymore. She's been rocking back and fourth now, I think she's ready to crawl soon! Craziness.
