After reading all about the chalboard platters in the blog found here, I wanted to make one right away. I decided to make it as a bridal shower gift for my soon to be sister-in-law, Megan :). Enjoy!
Supplies: Platter, sandpaper sponge, painters tape, sponge brush and chalkboard paint.
Tape the edges off the edges and sand down the metal so the paint will stick. Make sure you sand it really well if there is a finish on the metal, otherwise your paint wont stick (I did have to re-sand...).
Take off the tape and viola! You have a fancy new message board. For an added touch I wrapped the chalk in tape and then hotglued the feathers and ribbon around it (the green is the green in the wedding).
Wrap it up and it's ready to go! This was a fun project, I'm already thinking of more ways to use the rest of my paint :).
